Project inception

The inception workshop for the project “Production Efficiency and Employment Nexus: Advanced Technology based Urban and Peri-urban Horticulture in Bangladesh and Nepal” was held on …… The purpose of the workshop was to officially launch and commence the implementation of the project. The workshop was also used as an opportunity to refresh awareness of the project amongst key stakeholders and review key project activities and implementation arrangements.

The specific objectives of the workshop were to:

  1. Officially launch and commence the implementation of the project
  2. Aware key stakeholders about the project and identify areas of possible engagements
  3. Review the implementation arrangements of the project

The workshop was officially opened by the jointly by the Principal Investigator (PI) Prof. Dr. Kalyani Mishra Tripathi, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Punya Prasad Regmi, and Registrar Prof. Dr. Sharada Thapaliya and attended by stakeholders from key government organizations, university faculties, representatives from the farmers where the project activities will be delivered, and representatives from journalists. Also, the workshop was participated virtually by Director of HIL, Ms. Erin Mcquire and PI from Bangladesh Prof. Dr. Anwarul Abedin through video messages. A total of XX participants attended the workshop, out which XX of the participants were male and XX were female (see Annex for the workshop minutes). The workshop was emceed by one of the Co-PIs Praseed Thapa. It was organized and delivered using a mix of presentations, vide messages, plenary discussions, and remarks from distinguished guests. It was done to enable participants to raise key issues of concern, identify challenges, discuss practical solutions, and agree on priority actions to progress the project.
